14(3) Republicans

Republicans Are Traitors and Must Be Expelled from Government

But Trump did not commit these acts alone.

Every step of the way, Republican conspirators have given aid and comfort to Trump’s treasonous acts.

Insurrection

It is well documented how Republican members of Congress were intimately involved in planning the insurrection. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, Paul Gosar, and Jim Jordan, among many others, were documented as having helped plan with Jan 6 attackers. Every single one of those Republican members are not only ineligible to hold office according to Amendment 14, Section 3 of the Constitution but should be convicted of treason and sent to prison.  But the Constitution does not limit eligibility to just acts of treason punishable by law. It is enough to simply give “aid and comfort”.

For the next four years after the insurrection, many Republicans helped Trump rehabilitate his image to regain power. They lied overtly and repeatedly to the American public about Trump's involvement with the insurrection and worked behind the scenes to gave him enough cover to run for President again and ensure Trump did not face justice for his act of treason. This aid to Trump's treason makes those Republicans involved ineligible to hold office. The Constitution demands they be expelled from power.

Autocoup

As Trump attacks the foundations of our country and Constitution, using DOGE to undertake an autocoup, every single Republican in Congress seems content to aid his effort.

Currently, the Republicans hold power in Congress and have the ability to stop Trump but they are not. At any point, a small number of Republicans could leave their party and caucus with the Democrats. This would flip control of both chambers to the Democrats, giving the party the power to investigate the Trump regime, denying Trump the ability to continue to flout the law.

Four Republicans in the Senate and 5 in the House could help put a stop to the shredding of our Constitution and descent into authoritarianism. But they do not. Through their inaction, they aid his efforts. They are traitors. And in their aiding of Trump’s coup they have disqualified themselves from holding office.
